Story by Kwadwo Antwi Bosiako

The Chief of Domi Keniago and Otumfuo Brenpong Hene in the Amansie South District, Nana Obeng Mensah Ababio II, has launched a three-day community initiative aimed at promoting development and unity in the area.

The program began on Monday with a massive cleanup exercise, followed by an inter-electoral area football competition, and climaxed with a grand durbar held at the Manso Domi Keniago Community Football Park. Addressing the gathering at the durbar, Nana Obeng Mensah Ababio II revealed that the initiative was part of his efforts to mobilize support for the construction of teachers’ accommodation within the Domi Keniago community.

He further appealed to the government to urgently extend developmental projects to the Amansie South District. He specifically called for the construction of roads, and the establishment of a teacher training college, nursing training institution, and a technical school to support youth development in the area.

In addition, Nana Obeng Mensah Ababio II called on Asanko Gold Mining Company, which operates in the area, to improve its employment practices by offering more opportunities to local residents. He emphasized the need for transparency and fairness in the company’s recruitment process to ensure the community benefits meaningfully from the presence of the mining operation.
