I will Lead Demonstration Against President Mahama Over Nyinahin Shooting – Baah Acheamfour.

Acting Ashanti Regional Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Kofi Baah Acheamfour, has vowed to lead a one-man demonstration against President John Dramani Mahama if he fails to investigate the soldiers involved in the Nyinahin shootings that led to the death of Akwasi Lala, popularly known as Kusivi.

Mr. Acheamfour made this declaration after visiting Kusivi’s family in Nyinahin, where he expressed his outrage over the incident.

According to Mr. Acheamfour, the soldiers deliberately initiated the shootings, which resulted in Kusivi’s death. He described the incident as unprofessional and unacceptable, questioning why the military couldn’t have arrested Kusivi and handed him over to the police if they believed he had erred.

Mr. Acheamfour emphasized that Kusivi was not a criminal and did not warrant such treatment from the military.

Mr.Baah Acheamfour has issued a two-week ultimatum to President Mahama, the Minister of Defense, Omane Boamah and his deputy, Hon. Brogya Gyamfi to investigate the soldiers involved in the shooting and bring them to book.

He believes that the President, as the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, has a responsibility to ensure that the military operates within the bounds of the law and respects the rights of citizens.

Mr. Acheamfour revealed that he had known Kusivi personally and was aware of his activities towards the victory of the NDC in the 2024 elections.

He described Kusivi as a dedicated party member who did not deserve to be treated in such a manner.

Mr. Acheamfour’s personal connection to Kusivi has likely heightened his sense of outrage and determination to seek justice.

In conclusion, Mr. Acheamfour’s vow to lead a demonstration against President Mahama if he fails to investigate the Nyinahin shooting highlights the NDC’s commitment to seeking justice for its members.

The party’s demand for an investigation and action against the soldiers involved is a testament to its determination to hold those in power accountable for their actions.
